Frequently asked questions.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am in network with Aetna, Regence, Premera, Blue Cross Blue Shield, First Choice, Lifewise, HMA and Kaiser PPO. If I am not in network with your insurance I can provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Do you offer in person sessions?

Yes! My office is located in downtown Tacoma at 902 Market Street, on the corner of 9th and Market St within Urban Grace Church. There is ample free street parking in the alley behind the building on Court D. There are several places in walking distance to grab a coffee or matcha to bring to session with you! I also offer walk and talk sessions in Point Defiance Park year round, rain or shine. There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. :)

What are your credentials and education?

I have a master of social work (MSW) and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). My license number is LW60926690. I have been practicing for 10 years. I have bachelor of science in cultural anthropology. Additionally, I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and certified mat pilates instructor. I teach a yoga and relaxation techniques course in the kinesiology department at Pacific Lutheran University.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can provide you with tools and insights to help you manage your emotions and stressors. It can help you to gain a better understanding of yourself, your values and your goals, learn self care and self regulation, learn how to be more compassionate and accepting of yourself, and develop and learn communication skills. It is a wonderful tool to help process issues from the past and present that are still sticking around and causing distress. Many clients will end the session commenting on how they feel better than when they came in. Having a space to verbally process and be validated is the best!
